Imagine my delight recently to be invited by Lichfield Diocese Green Team to join them on a study day in Walsall.
I’ll be helping out with sung worship, playing with Rev Rich Clarkson who I know through the 12 Song Challenge, and then working during the day to pen a new hymn for our act of worship at the end of the day. It’s the perfect marriage of challenge (tight timeframe, no pre-conceived ideas) and application (focus and topic provided) to try to develop my songwriting and to provide a new piece of song for the local church.
It’s an opportunity to engage with ecology and the Christian faith, and I shall enjoy the change of pace. In due course, I hope I’ll be able to publish whatever I write here, and go from there.
