About

I’m Andrew Clayton, and I’m a musician.

I’m also a husband, father, poet, preacher, maker of trifles, planner of lunatic deeds, drinker of coffee and lover of ale.

This is technically a business website, in the sense that I am a self-employed professional musician. Like any solo creative, it’s much more difficult to separate the person from the practice in real life. I love working as a performer, leader, conductor, coach, teacher, planner or development officer, and I get to do wonderful things with wonderful people.

Andrew Clayton sat at the console of the church organ, playing it.

Right now, I am Director of Music at St Matthew’s Church, Walsall and MD of Great Barr Brass. I am part of the team delivering Walsall Festival of Words; the organiser behind YOUR BARD; a writer and composer, and quite often a songwriter.

Let’s do some cool stuff together.
