Wagging Stick

Today was the first 2026 gig for Great Barr Brass, the remarkable community brass band I have the privilege to conduct.

Once more we found ourselves at Aldridge Transport Museum for the afternoon, celebrating their running day by providing live music in their exhibition hall, and earning some lovely applause from the various transport enthusiasts gathered to see the buses.

There were many buses, although that sharp-eyed reader will have noticed I personally have a thing for railways. It was a joyous gig with lots of effort and plenty of laughs. Admittedly, the temperature was something of a challenge, but I am assured that by the height of summer the shed will merely be cold rather than arctic.

We will be back on April 26th for their Spring Running Day, and I am looking forward to it already.
