Schools Work

I love the sense of achievement that only really comes from working with young people. I have a DBS clearance through my volunteer work at Forest Arts Centre (as an accompanist) and as an individual I enjoy going into schools to deliver either curriculum content or one off themed events.

I have a small body of original work, and can compose new songs to your requirements for particular occasions. Alternatively, I can teach and rehearse songs from other repertoires.

If you fancy something more experimental, we can explore “found” instruments and music. We can make instruments together as a group, in teams, or individuals, and then play them. It works with Year 2 or 3 pupils exploring the science and nature of sound, right through to Years 12&13, learning about La Monte Young and Michael Nyman, John Cage and Karlheinz Stockhausen.

You may have a particular project or topic in mind. I’m always happy to discuss bespoke project work, collaboration with other artists or writing curriculum content to meet a specific commission.

Please e-mail me if you require further details or wish to discuss teaching opportunities.
