I love to write music and lyrics. Here are a few of the things I’ve written:
2005/6 Opus Pocus for wind quintet (two clarinets, alto and tenor sax, piano) performed by final year students at my university.
2006/07 Hornpipe for wind quintet (flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, Fr. horn) performed by the Serenata Winds in a workshop concert at University of Wolverhampton at the Arena Theatre.
2008 Aurora Australis for mixed brass and percussion composed specifically for a World Music concert which needed an Antarctic theme. The piece was minimalist and a complete disaster, but sounded great in my head… which says more about my experience as a composer than the musicians on the night, I assure you.
2008-2011 New Carols for Christmas – three (so far) pieces for unison choir and piano or organ which are adaptable for contemporary church worship band. The aim of this is to create accessible music in a “modern” style to complement traditional carols.
2012-present Cantata for SATB, keyboard and chamber group. For New Year 2012 I decided to take on the challenge of writing a Christmas Cantata for December 2012. By 2017 it’s still in development and has spawned a prequel dealing with events up to the Nativity.
