I have a deep and abiding affection for railways. Since my first train set (when I was quite little) I’ve fancied having a layout and running trains. I also discovered last year that I enjoy modelling a little, and I’m taking the opportunity this summer to exhibit some of my trains at my local transport museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ll be showing off my quite amateur skills and showing at least three layouts – one of which I completed last year was part of Mike Potter’s 60cm shelf challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worthies Halt is a simple “tuning fork” layout with a platform and siding for shunting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, there’s plenty to be done with even a simple shunting layout – it’s an opportunity to make believe and run whatever small locos and rolling stock I have handy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have also been working on a layout in a case called roman densha<\/em>. It’s named for the Japanese for streetcar – just a little loop and a battery power supply sending a tram around an urban scene with a hand-panted sky and guardian Gundam robot standing over the city. It’s not complete yet, but here’s the latest:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
